• City's Serbian defender allegedly involved in touchline row
• Two Albanian Newcastle supporters made complaint of racism

Aleksandar Kolarov will not face any action from Northumbria police, following an incident during Manchester City's 3-1 win at Newcastle United on 15 December, the club have confirmed.

City's Serbian defender allegedly became involved in a dispute with a Newcastle supporter bearing the national flag of Albania near the touchline as he warmed up before coming on as a first-half substitute.

Two Albanian Newcastle supporters complained to stewards who, in turn, reported the incident to local police, claiming that racist language had been used. When such complaints are made, police have to investigate.

Serbs and Albanians have endured an often uneasy and tense relationship since the Kosovo conflict.
