The gifs that keep on giving: Deadline day, David Beckham and dog surfing
This week's round-up features Gareth Bale's left foot, Batman on a surfboard and some possession play ahead of the Super Bowl
Thanks for all your suggestions on last week's blog. Here are a few highlights from this week.
Deadline day deals
No wonder Harry Redknapp wanted Peter Odemwingie. Here he is scoring from his own half (seconds after the referee had blown the full-time whistle).
The January transfer window was relatively quiet this year, but there were a few marquee signings. Daniel Sturridge has started well for Liverpool, scoring in his first three games for the club, but his partnership with Luis Suárez needs a bit more work.
Wilfried Zaha agreed a five-and-a-half year deal with Manchester United and was loaned back to Crystal Palace for the rest of the season. The transfer could cost United up to £15m, but Zaha has it all. He is strong, can provide goals, score them, smack the ball in from 20 yards, find space at the near post and pull off a tidy nutmeg.
All left foot
Gareth Bale took the ball from his own half and buried it past Norwich City goalkeeper Mark Bunn without using his right foot. Bale is one-footed but he's more than capable of producing spectacular results with both feet. In other left-leaning news, here is Gio Dos Santos smashing in a free-kick from 30 yards.
The joy of Zlatan
Not many players enjoy being nutmegged, but at least Zlatan Ibrahimovic saw the funny side of Aurelien Chedjou's cheek. Ibrahimovic will be teaming up with David Beckham at PSG. He will be hoping Beckham's crossing remains as accurate as ever.
It's about the bike
And just for good measure, here is Lance Armstrong being overtaken on the finishing line.
Hawaiian surfer Garrett McNamara rode one of the largest waves ever surfed off the coast of Nazaré, Portugal, this week. McNamara is not particularly bothered about the size of the wave: "I don't even care how big it was, I just want to go surfing. I'm so over all of this measuring."
Enjoy the Super Bowl
