Wigan playmaker James McCarthy admits he is flattered by reported interest from a host of Premier League clubs.

The Latics 22-year-old has attracted admiring glances from the likes of Arsenal, Liverpool and Everton during another impressive season for the Latics.

Arsenal were reported to be preparing an £8million bid for him in the summer while Everton will make a move should Marouane Fellaini leave.

Although McCarthy insists he is concentrated on Wigan’s battle for survival, he hinted that he will consider his options at the end of the season, according to Sky Sports.

“Obviously, it’s good to see your name linked with big clubs, certain clubs, it’s always nice but I am still a Wigan player and I will keep playing for Wigan until the end of the season,” said McCarthy.

“I have been linked with clubs here and there but I will keep working hard and see what the end of the season brings.”
